What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are interchangeable words, although the latter is usually long-term.
During counselling, I will offer you a safe and confidential space to explore with me any issues you would like to bring to the session. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in counselling, and I will invite you to be yourself and share your deepest concerns with me without the fear of being judged or misunderstood.
Counselling can deal with such events as the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, or the death of someone close, and it can also help you cope with aspects of your life that you feel unable to change. This could include your job, relationships, sexuality, or self-esteem. I offer you the chance to talk about difficult or painful life experiences in a safe place with an experienced and qualified practitioner. This means that I will listen, try to understand you empathically, accept what you offer, and not judge you.
